Racing Amendment Bill

Government Bill
Published date: 09 Mar 2023

Bills are proposals to make a new law or to change an existing one. Only Parliament can pass a bill. Each bill goes through several stages, giving MPs and the public the chance to have their say.

This bill seeks to amend the Racing Act 2003 to implement a range of provisions that are designed to improve the competiveness of the New Zealand Racing Board's betting operations, introduce new requirements on offshore betting operators, and provide for regulations on revising the formula for allocating proceeds from sports betting between the racing and sports sectors.
