Accident Compensation (Access Reporting and Other Matters) Amendment Bill
Bills are proposals to make a new law or to change an existing one. Only Parliament can pass a bill. Each bill goes through several stages, giving MPs and the public the chance to have their say.
This bill requires the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) to report annually on how Māori and other population groups are accessing the accident compensation scheme, and on any identified drivers or causes of disparities in access; ensures that ACC focuses on monitoring access to the scheme by Māori and other population groups; and brings forward eligibility for the minimum rate of weekly compensation from the sixth to the second week of incapacity.MP in charge
