Crown Minerals (Prohibition of Mining) Amendment Bill
Bills are proposals to make a new law or to change an existing one. Only Parliament can pass a bill. Each bill goes through several stages, giving MPs and the public the chance to have their say.
The bill amends the Crown Minerals Act 1991 to prohibit the Minister of Energy or their delegate granting permits for minerals activities (prospecting, exploration and mining) over conservation lands and waters; and prohibits access arrangements over conservation land and waters being sought from or granted by the Ministers of Energy and Conservation.MP in charge
