Drug and Substance Checking Legislation Bill

Government Bill
Published date: 11 May 2023

Bills are proposals to make a new law or to change an existing one. Only Parliament can pass a bill. Each bill goes through several stages, giving MPs and the public the chance to have their say.

This omnibus bill amends the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975 and the Psychoactive Substances Act 2013 to try to minimise drug and substance harm by allowing drug and substance checking services to operate legally in New Zealand.
