Remuneration Authority (Members of Parliament Remuneration) Amendment Bill
Bills are proposals to make a new law or to change an existing one. Only Parliament can pass a bill. Each bill goes through several stages, giving MPs and the public the chance to have their say.
The purpose of this bill is to implement the Government's decision to freeze Member of Parliament salaries, expense allowances, and superannuation subsidies from 1 July 2018 until 30 June 2019 at the levels determined in the Parliamentary Salaries and Allowances Determination 2017 and the Parliamentary Superannuation Determination 2003.MP in charge
