Riccarton Racecourse Bill

Local Bill
Published date: 05 Jul 2024

Bills are proposals to make a new law or to change an existing one. Only Parliament can pass a bill. Each bill goes through several stages, giving MPs and the public the chance to have their say.

This bill repeals the existing enactment relating to the Riccarton Racecourse, and re-enacts provisions with ongoing relevance, together with provisions necessary to enable 40 hectares of the racecourse to be developed for housing. This bill is companion legislation to the Riccarton Racecourse Development Enabling Bill.
