Accident Compensation Amendment Bill

Government Bill
Published date: 05 Jul 2024

Bills are proposals to make a new law or to change an existing one. Only Parliament can pass a bill. Each bill goes through several stages, giving MPs and the public the chance to have their say.

This bill amends the Accident Compensation Act 2001 by ensuring that it is effective and efficient and accords with best regulatory practice by addressing regulatory duplication, gaps, errors, and inconsistencies within and between different pieces of legislation, and by keeping the regulatory system up to date and relevant.
