Food (Continuation of Dietary Supplements Regulations) Amendment Bill

Government Bill
Published date: 05 Jul 2024

Bills are proposals to make a new law or to change an existing one. Only Parliament can pass a bill. Each bill goes through several stages, giving MPs and the public the chance to have their say.

This bill extends the expiry date of the Dietary Supplements Regulations 1985 by 5 years, from 1 March 2021 to 1 March 2026. The objective of this bill is to maintain consumer access to New Zealand dietary supplements until a fit-for-purpose regulatory regime is expected to fully commence.
