Social Housing Reform (Transaction Mandate) Bill

Government Bill
Published date: 12 May 2023

Bills are proposals to make a new law or to change an existing one. Only Parliament can pass a bill. Each bill goes through several stages, giving MPs and the public the chance to have their say.

This bill amends the Housing Corporation Act 1974 to provide designated Ministers with the authority to transfer Housing New Zealand Corporation properties, and the properties of HNZC's subsidiaries, by entering into contracts and performing other acts in the name of, and on behalf of, any one or more of HNZC and HNZC's subsidiaries, as relevant.
