Parole (Extended Supervision Orders) Amendment Bill

Government Bill
Published date: 05 Jul 2024

Bills are proposals to make a new law or to change an existing one. Only Parliament can pass a bill. Each bill goes through several stages, giving MPs and the public the chance to have their say.

This bill proposes amendments to the Parole Act 2002 to enable extended supervision orders to be renewed as often as they are needed, and expand the scope of these orders beyond high-risk child sex offenders to include high-risk sex offenders and very high-risk violent offenders.
