Taxation (Annual Rates for 2024–25, Emergency Response, and Remedial Measures) Bill

Government Bill
Published date: 31 Mar 2025

Bills are proposals to make a new law or to change an existing one. Only Parliament can pass a bill. Each bill goes through several stages, giving MPs and the public the chance to have their say.

The policy proposals in this omnibus bill set the annual rates of income tax for the 2024-25 tax year, aim at improving current settings within a broad-base, low-rate framework, and aim at improving the settings for tax administration, the GST regime, KiwiSaver, and social policy rules administered by Inland Revenue.
