Electoral (Equal Protection of Māori Seats) Amendment Bill

Member's Bill
Published date: 08 Apr 2024

Bills are proposals to make a new law or to change an existing one. Only Parliament can pass a bill. Each bill goes through several stages, giving MPs and the public the chance to have their say.

The purpose of the Bill is to amend provisions in the Electoral Act 1993 to provide Māori electorates with the same protections as General electorates.
