Regulatory Responsibility Bill

Member's Bill
Published date: 05 Jul 2024

Bills are proposals to make a new law or to change an existing one. Only Parliament can pass a bill. Each bill goes through several stages, giving MPs and the public the chance to have their say.

This bill aims to improve parliamentary laws and regulations in New Zealand by specifying principles of responsible regulatory management to apply to the Government in pursuing its policy objectives, and by requiring the Crown to report on its compliance with the principles.
