Electoral Amendment Bill

Government Bill
Published date: 05 Jul 2024

Bills are proposals to make a new law or to change an existing one. Only Parliament can pass a bill. Each bill goes through several stages, giving MPs and the public the chance to have their say.

This bill amends the Electoral Act 1993 and the Electoral Regulations 1996 to improve enrolment and voting processes to better enfranchise voters, uphold the integrity of the electoral system by ensuring that elections are conducted efficiently and securely, and support the effective conduct of future elections.
