Bills are proposals to make a new law or to change an existing one. Only Parliament can pass a bill. Each bill goes through several stages, giving MPs and the public the chance to have their say.

This bill will require the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment to amend the Government Procurement Rules and Principles of Government Procurement to make job creation and the overall benefit to New Zealand a determining factor in their decision making.
