Rangitāne Tū Mai Rā (Wairarapa Tamaki nui-ā-Rua) Claims Settlement Bill

Bills are proposals to make a new law or to change an existing one. Only Parliament can pass a bill. Each bill goes through several stages, giving MPs and the public the chance to have their say.

This bill gives effect to the deed of settlement signed on 6 August 2016 in which the Crown and Rangitāne o Wairarapa and Rangitāne o Tamaki nui-ā-Rua agreed to the final settlement of the historical Treaty of Waitangi claims of Rangitāne.
