Criminal Proceeds (Recovery) Bill

Government Bill
Published date: 05 Jul 2024

Bills are proposals to make a new law or to change an existing one. Only Parliament can pass a bill. Each bill goes through several stages, giving MPs and the public the chance to have their say.

The objective of this Bill is to provide a legislation framework for the confiscation of property from persons who have engaged in or profited from criminal activity, the reduction of the rewards from crime to an individual, the reduction of attraction of crime for potential offenders and the reduction of resources that could potentially used for criminal activities.
